They try all sorts of faddy diets and exercises, many of which are just purely fabricated by large companies, in a bid to make more money. One diet however, which is proven to be healthy, safe, and extremely effective, is the raw food diet. Now, before you think we've gone mad and are encouraging you to eat all of your food raw, such as chicken or meat, then relax, because that’s not what the raw food diet is about. Instead, it’s about eating foods which can be eaten raw, as a way of getting their maximum levels of nutrition into your body. We will be reviewing the basics of the raw food diet, and helping to explain what makes it so healthy and beneficial for you.

What is the raw food diet? – As the name suggests, it is a diet made up entirely of foods which can safely be consumed raw. Nuts, vegetables, seeds, fruits, etc.

Why eat raw foods? – Eating healthy vegetables and fruits is all well and good, but most people tend to cook them, and boil them until they’re mushy and soft. When we cook foods, we destroy part of their natural mineral, vitamin, and antioxidant content. It’s these ingredients which make the foods healthy, yet unbeknownst to us, we’re destroying what it is that makes them healthy. When you eat them in their raw state, you’re getting all of the healthy natural goodness as it should be, without destroying it. Humans have been eating these types of foods for millions of years, so our digestive systems are now extremely capable of coping with what we eat. When we cook food, the heat changes the molecular structure of the food and can cause enzymes and proteins to become denatured, making the foods nowhere near as healthy than if they were eaten raw.

What are the health benefits? – When you eat healthy raw foods, you get all of the natural goodness that they contain. That means you’re getting all of the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other nutrients that make the food so good for your body. This means your immune system becomes stronger, your metabolism increases, and you experience more energy levels than you could have ever possibly imagined. The vitamins and minerals also help you to get better sleep, to relax more, to lose weight as they’re almost entirely fat free, and allow you to eat as much as you can because they’re so healthy and nutritious.
