Sex is more than just a fun past time. It’s also good for your health, so what are the health benefits of sex. Have you been exercising with your significant other? This can be a great way to stay healthy and increase the bond between the two of you. Just remember that you can get some of that exercise together in the bedroom.
First of all, sex is a great stress reliever. Obviously, you don’t want to just have sex any time one of you is feeling stressed. This is just a beneficial side effect. People who have sex on a regular basis deal better with stressful situations. They also have a tendency to have lower blood pressure.
Sex also burns calories. Half an hour in bed can burn 85 calories. That means that for every 21 hours in the sack, you can drop a pound. Now there is a great weight loss routine!
Beans aren’t the only thing good for your heart. Sex is too. Having sex twice per week can cut your risk of heart attack in half.
It’s good for your immune system too. Studies show that having sex even just once per week boosts your antibody levels. Do you keep getting every cold your kid brings home from school? Make sure you make time to be with your wife at least once per week.
Sleep is key to your health, and sex can help you to sleep better. When you reach orgasm your body releases oxytocin which promotes good sleep. Sleeping well can help you to keep your blood pressure down and maintain a healthy weight.
These are your body’s natural pain killers. Sex can help you to deal with headaches and muscle soreness. It can also help your significant other with her PMS (which is also good for your mental health).
If you want to be more intimate with your mate (intimacy and good emotional health are linked) sex is the best way to achieve that intimacy. In fact, the oxytocin that is released during intimate moments builds an emotional bond of trust. It also seems to have an impact on how generous a person is. Just keep that in mind next time she wants to snuggle. Doing so may put her in a more generous mood (if you know what I mean). Yes, all around, sex seems to have health benefits even if the activity is only engaged in 1 to 2 times per week.
